Queercamp Milwaukee was awesome, and it couldn’t have been as awesome without the amazing people who contributed, attended, donated and supported the first ever queercamp! pictures and video coming soon!

Thanks to everyone who attended the kick-off party at Art Bar, we’ll see you at Bucketworks on Saturday!

Queercamp kick-off party location is secured! We will be kicking off Queercamp on Friday evening, April 24th, at Art Bar in Riverwest. The kick-off party starts at 9pm, so come and enjoy some great company in one of Milwaukee’s great neighborhood bars!

More of queercamp schedule announcements will be released this week, so stay tuned! And get ready for Queercamp THIS WEEKEND! (April 25 and 26th)

With Queercamp less than two weeks away, there’s still a lot to do. and you ALL can help out in the following ways (which will make you our favorite friends, you know  )

• REGISTER for Queercamp! (or sign up on facebook or upcoming)
• Become a sponsor for Queercamp! any donation amount helps us out greatly! plus you get your name/logo on our site and throughout the Queercamp event coming up on April 25 and 26th!
• Sign up to present some sessions! Come to share your knowledge as well as enjoy learning from others around you. Not feeling comfortable leading a session all by yourself? grab a couple friends and lead a panel discussion about an issue you care about! it’s fun, trust me!
• and last, but definitely not least TELL YOUR FRIENDS! The most valuable part of Queercamp is in the networking and uniting of PEOPLE!

Queercamp planning is well under way and we’ve seen lots of interest here in milwaukee, and beyond! if you have been checking up on the website, you’ll see new sections being added recently, including a registration form. There is also a facebook event so you can RSVP over here if you are on facebook.

Currently we are looking for more sponsors for queercamp! Any amount will help, and all donations are tax deductible, so please donate what you can!

Soon we will be putting up some of the sessions that will be presented… so stay tuned to queercamp.org!

mark your calendars. queercamp has a weekend. the last weekend in april.. the weekend after easter.. april 25th and 26th, with a pre-party on the 24th. it will be held at bucketworks, in milwaukee wisconsin.

now what’s next on the to-do list? well we need to promote and get as many people on board to present, attend, support, donate and get the word out! so what can you do to help? this is not a “one man band” by any means. we have strength in our numbers. what talents and gifts can you bring to the table? can you help write promotional materials? do you have connections or contacts in LGBTQ organizations? do you have a blog, website or podcast?  do you have some time to help get the word out on *this* site or the queercamp twitter? can you cook, prepare, or warm up food? ANYTHING! just let me know by sending us an email. and we’ll add you to the group discussion!
